Spanky's is hosting their 5th Annual Movember Ping Pong tournament Saturday, November 22nd. Price per team is $40—$20 per player—with all proceeds going to Movember. The tournament, which we're co-sponsoring, gets rolling at 4:00 p.m. To sign up your team, go to Spanky's—which is located on Hunter St. in downtown Peterborough. It will be great fun for all. Koski will be there. But we doubt Ken will be there.

Watch The Amazing Paper Lantern Tribute To Tara Dawn Jacobs On Hunter Street

On Sunday night (August 24th), a group of people in Peterborough did something beautiful. Friends and family of the late Tara Dawn Jacobs—who passed away suddenly and far too young last Monday—got together in a celebration of life for her. Hosted at Spanky’s on Hunter Street, her friends and family rallied together to help raise money for Tara’s two young daughters, Janelle and Jazlyn. Spanky's had a BBQ, raffle table and a silent auction, and have so far raised almost $7,000. To cap off the night, they celebrated with a paper lantern send-off on Hunter St. which was incredible to witness as you can see in the pictures and video below. Those who helped organize the event were truly in awe and inspired by the sense of love and community they felt. If you are interested in donating, email Meg Fitzpatrick here for info.

Spanky's Yard Sale & BBQ For Survivors Abreast

This Saturday (June 1st) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Spanky's is hosting a BBQ and yard sale to raise money for their Darling Insurance/Spanky's Downtown Dragon Boat team for Survivors Abreast. Artwork, collectables, restaurant equipment, small wares and other knick knacks will be available. Hunter Street is closed for a classic car show with live music and food vendors that day, so head on down for a great time, and to help Spanky's raise some money for a great cause.

Spanky's Hosting Backyard Tent Party For Saint Patrick's Day

Spanky's have a special license for a party in their back parking lot on Saint Patrick's Day, where they will have a heated tent. There will be live music, Jonny Trash will be DJ-ing, people will be dancing, and Koski will be wearing his No. 34 toque.

Spanky's Hosting Backyard Party/Fundraiser July 14th With Great Local Bands

The back parking lot at Spanky's is a place to be Saturday, July 14th. They have a special permit and licensed area, where local bands and DJs will be performing. It's also a fundraiser for the Peterborough Breast Cancer Support Group.
