Penelope The Pot Bellied Pig Has Passed Away

PTBOCanada.com is sad to report that beloved Riverview Park & Zoo pig Penelope has passed away. The female Vietnamese pot-bellied pig died recently after a long battle with cancer.

She arrived at the zoo more than 11 years ago from the Peterborough Humane Society after being abandoned by a group of local students when they finished their school year.

Penelope was always friendly and gentle—and a favourite of kids and adults alike at the barnyard.
