PTBOCanada Featured Post: Johnny Cupcakes Is Coming To Market Hall Thanks To Fast Start

“Whoa, whoa, this is crazy! What the heck is going on?!” Those are words directly from the mouth of renowned T-shirt BOSS Johnny Cupcakes, who is coming to Peterborough’s Market Hall on February 23rd for a night of laughs, feels, and—most importantly—inspiration for our local entrepreneurial community.

Let us fill you in a little bit on Mr. Cupcakes. Believe it or not, his real name is Johnny Earle. Johnny Cupcakes sounds more fun and delicious though. He’s a self described innovator, entrepreneur, idea farmer, and overall prankster. He’s a guy who’s figured out a way to make himself happy, others happy and get paid for it all at the same time.

As a kid, Mr. Cupcakes was continuously creating businesses—16 businesses before the age of 16 to be exact! Now, he’s created an awesome T-shirt clothing line you’ll find in shops around the globe that are set up like bakeries. You’ll actually find things like fridges, ovens and baking trays used inside shops giving it a distinct feeling of a cupcake boutique.

What started off as a joke is now no laughing matter (well, literally it is —the shirts are hilarious, but not figuratively). He gives people an incredibly wicked product, unforgettable setting, and packaging that is almost as memorable as the shirts themselves! “Everything is a complete experience,” Johnny says, and “100 percent of those people leave with a story to share!”

Now this famous guy is coming to Peterborough with his story to share? Heck yes he is! And it's all thanks to Fast Start. #ThanksFastStart. Fast Start, for the uninitiated, is a youth entrepreneurship program delivered in partnership between the Greater Peterborough Innovation Cluster, Trent University and Fleming College.

So if your brain is full of ideas and you’re between the ages of 18 and 29, you’ll want to get to know all about Fast Start! They host monthly #EConnect get-togethers around our great community which are a great networking opportunity for entrepreneurs.

February 23rd with Johnny Cupcakes is going to be all about how to start, grow, and/or reinvent YOUR idea to become a sustainable business. You can do it—and with little to no start-up money, honestly! You just have to figure out how to create a memorable experience that will surely bring you brand loyalty.

Johnny Cupcakes has been featured in Forbes, The New York Times, Boston Globe, Wall Street Journal, MTV and The Food Network to name just a few major media outlets. He also has fans in Nas, John Stamos, Kevin Garnett, Spike Lee, iJustine and Travie McCoy.

Along the way, Johnny Cupcakes has also reinvented its brand by collaborating with a variety of companies, people, musicians and properties.

Some of those collaborations include Nickelodeon, Marilyn Monroe’s estate, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, House of Blues, The Simpsons, Bicycle Playing Cards, Suffolk University, Linkin Park, Hello Kitty, Warner Bros. and Coachella. Those are some pretty heavy hitters!

If you’re an entrepreneurial spirit with ideas on your mind, this is a can’t miss event. There are a limited number of seats available for this intimate and interactive evening so don’t wait until the last minute to go looking for tickets. Did we mention that this is a FREE event at beautiful Market Hall? Now we have. So jump on it. If you have kids, find a babysitter now. If you don’t, that’s one less step. Just make sure you have February 23rd at 6 p.m. open!
