Trent Community Movements Conference (April 2)

We are excited to invite you to Trent University's 16th Annual Community Movements Conference: Abuse and Impunity: Human Rights Violations and Corporate Accountability in the Canadian Extractive Industry at Home and Abroad, happening on April 1st and 2nd, 2023 at Sadleir House, 751 George St. N., Peterborough. This conference is completely free to attend and open to anyone who is interested. Meals will be provided. Please register via Eventbrite; RSVP is appreciated for planning purposes. 

Understanding and Combating Impunity: Legal and Activist Perspectives

Day two will begin at 11:00 with a roundtable discussion on corporate accountability in Canadian extractivism with Aidan Gilchrist-Blackwood from the Canadian Network on Corporate Accountability, and lawyers Shin Imai, Penelope Simons, and James Yap. Following lunch from 13:00 to 14:00, we will conclude at 16:00 with a workshop on grassroots activism and solidarity with Sydney Lang and Emily Green from the Mining Injustice Solidarity Network.
