Rick Fines is anxious to get in front of an audience. The Market Hall is eager to get back up and running. Both want to ease back in and do things safely and they have found a way.
Sunday, Dec. 12, Fines will play a solo show for only 100 people in the hall, that has a capacity of 350. Proof of double vaccination will be necessary.
Fines’ newest release, Solar Powered Too, was released during a global pandemic, with the bulk of the songs recorded in a little gazebo in the North Kawartha woods, with solar power. You can hear the crickets and cicadas if you listen carefully.
Despite being unable to tour to promote the album, it has received critical acclaim. Nominations have poured in from the Junos (Blues Album of the Year), Canadian Folk Music Awards (Contemporary Album, Solo Artist and English Songwriter of the Year) and the Maple Blues Awards (Acoustic Artist and Songwriter of the Year)- 6 nominations, 5 of which have yet to be decided.
$33 for regular assigned seating, $38 for premium assigned seating.
