Since making her label debut in 2021, Montreal-born, Toronto-based recording artist Rêve has established herself as one of the most promising dance-pop singer-songwriters of this generation. She has amassed over 110 million combined global streams thanks to a host of popular original singles, from her debut track “Still Dancing” to the irresistible “SKIN2SKIN.”
Her debut track “Whitney” reached #1 on the US Dance charts, while her Canadian chart-topping track “CTRL+ALT+DEL” attained Platinum status only eight months after its release. It was featured on Canada’s Drag Race, garnering a SOCAN Dance Music Award in 2022 and a Dance Recording of the Year award at the 2023 JUNOs. Rêve has also received nominations at the 2023 JUNO Awards for Breakthrough Artist of the Year and TikTok Juno Fan Choice. Her sonic blend of playful pop and R&B-influenced dance music is inspired by the Euro sounds of the 90s.
Opening for Rêve is fellow Montreal native dee holt, who has risen to prominence after only recently revealing her talents. Not long ago, the 19-year-old was singing along to her dad’s VHS home videos and performing at family gatherings, without considering a career in singing. That changed when her mother coaxed her into serenading her boyfriend’s parents upon their first meeting, and suddenly, a career had begun in earnest. Since then, holt has been working with producer Benjamin Nadeau, discovering an honest yet playful indie pop sound.
Teen Vogue has called her the “one to watch,” while SHEESH Media compared her vocals to Billie Eilish. On her second EP, I’ll Be There, dee really pushed her creative boundaries around a body of music that takes her to the next level. Reflecting on the process, dee says, “This project was such a fun experience, in every aspect… I loved experimenting with my writing style and technique. I loved brainstorming and creating visuals that went along with the songs. But most of all, I loved walking into the studio and getting carried away in the music, trying new things. Coming up with an idea, and then slowly watching it build and come to life is such a special feeling.”
