Peterborough Musicfest Presents: Glass Tiger

Peterborough Musicfest is thrilled to welcome the return of Glass Tiger to Del Crary, presenting the iconic Canadian rock band on Wednesday, August 9 as part of the festival’s 36th summer season.

Led by the incomparable Alan Frew, Glass Tiger – formed in 1981 and initially known as Tokyo Rose – exploded out of the gate with its debut album Thin Red Line in 1986 and never looked back. Besides the title track, that Juno-Award winning album offered the hit singles Someday and the platinum selling plea Don’t Forget Me (When I’m Gone) that brought the band a 1987 Grammy Award nomination as Best New Band.

Frew et al didn’t rest on their laurels over the following years, the hit singles I Will Be There, I’m Still Searching, Diamond Sun, My Song, Animal Heart, Rhythm Of Your Love and My Town (with Rod Stewart) drawing a global fan base that is still very much in evidence today. In total, five Juno Awards came the band’s way on the strength of a remarkable 12 nominations.

More recently, Glass Tiger released its fifth studio album, 33, in May 2019 and, in the fall of 2020, served up a Christmas-themed collection titled A Song For A Winter Night. Having last appeared at Peterborough Musicfest in 2008, Glass Tiger returns to Del Crary Park with Frew joined by several original band mates.
