Anti-Stigma Day at Millennium Park

Stay tuned for more information as planning continues for Anti-Stigma Day 2023!

June 26th is marked by The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime as “International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking”, supporting the War on Drugs through social media campaigns, information, etc. We know that campaigns like this serve to further stigmatize and ostracize our peers who use substances. Thus, we offer a campaign to reduce stigma on this day.

On June 26th, look for our workers around Peterborough from 1:00PM-4:00PM! We'll have a table set up outside of Silver Bean Cafe in Millennium Park and our workers will be out in various locations throughout the city. Join us for a conversation to raise awareness about stigma, how it affects the community, and practical ways to combat it. We’ll be offering on-site Naloxone training.

Join the conversation online, too! On June 26th, we invite you to take a selfie with a sign that reads “#stigmakills”. Post your photo to social media and use the hashtag #stigmakills. Consider sharing about your personal experience or what anti-stigma means to you. We hope these posts may inspire constructive conversation within your network about substance-use stigma.
