About this Event
Peterborough IWD 2021 #Choose to Challenge
Monday, March 8th, 6:30-8:30pm
“We respectfully acknowledge that we are on the treaty and traditional territory of the Michi Saagiig Anishinaabeg, Treaty 20 and Williams Treaties. We offer our gratitude to the First Peoples for their care for, and teachings about, our earth and our relations. May we honour those teachings.”
Thank you for registering for this free, annual Nogojiwanong/Peterborough event to mark International Women's Day 2021.
Due to anticipated Covid-19 restrictions, we have organized a virtually inspiring and interactive IWD event with opportunities to learn from our guest speakers and each other. We’ll explore gender equity - and its connection to the Sustainable Development Goals, the intersection of sexism and racism, and how we take care of ourselves and each other during turbulent times. Please find program details below.
Important Note: Everyone is welcomed into this event. For the break out discussions groups only, we are requesting male-identifying folx to please check the box in the registration to participate in a dedicated space exploring how men can support gender equality led by Delores Lalonde (Niijkiwendidaa Peterborough) and the KSAC MENding Program.
*Please bring into the event a poster or symbol of what you are choosing to challenge this year and we'll take a few minutes to share these virtually.*
