Join the Free Market Collective and the Seasoned Spoon Café for this workshops that will show you how to make the old new again!
Mending is a way of repairing clothes that have holes, stains, or other signs of wear to extend their life. In this discussion-based workshop, two self taught fixers will share their experience and history with mending as well as tips and tricks for the beginner. Participants will learn to sew patches, repair seams, sew darts and more! No supplies necessary, but feel free to bring along items needing repair and any questions you may have! We will also discuss basic supplies for the average fixer.
Our menders: Sonya Grabowski is an avid thrifter and professional upholsterer specializing in marine and boat work. Hannah Michel is a Trent student with a passion for knitting and visible mending, a form of mending that highlights the mend, turning it into art while strengthening your item."
