Lock & Paddle returns with a new twist: It’s time to Light up the Night at the Peterborough Lift Lock! On August 24th and 25th we will be celebrating all things paddle with something we haven’t done in over 60 years: a lockage at night. So bring your family and friends, and join us for an amazing evening to end off the summer.

Decorate your vessel
We are inviting everyone to decorate their canoes and kayaks with glow sticks, lights, reflectors or anything that can light up the night! These decorated vessels will then parade from Lock 20 - Ashburnham up the canal to enter the world’s highest hydraulic lift lock, where they will be lifted 19.81 m into the night sky!
Upon exiting the lock, a campfire will be waiting with musical acts and exciting activities.
Win prizes
Prizes are to be given out for the best decorated canoes or kayaks, and the opportunity to camp in the shadow of the Peterborough Lift Lock will be offered to the first 150 registrants!
