Peterborough Man Charged After Allegedly Threatening Wife With a Knife and Lifted Her By the Neck
/A 40-year-old Peterborough resident is facing charges after an intimate partner violence incident Monday evening.
At roughly 9:15 p.m., Peterborough Police were called to a residence in the Denure Drive and Kawartha Heights Boulevard area.
Officers called out at the house and a man exited the home and was taken into custody. Investigation revealed that a woman in the home had reported her husband had a knife, allegedly threatened to hurt her and lifted her up by the neck. The knife was seized from the residence.
The man was arrested and charged with:
Assault Cause Bodily Harm - Choke, suffocate or strangle
Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm-Spousal
Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
