Inclement Weather Temporarily Closes City and Public Services

Due to the inclement weather, Peterborough received overnight, several city services are temporarily closed for Monday.

Peterborough Transit has closed its services. They will monitor conditions and will resume service when safe for customers and staff.

An update will be provided when service resumes. Transit customers can call Peterborough Transit customer service for information 705-745-0525 or follow transit on Twitter @ptbo_transit for information.

The City of Peterborough Social Services office at 178 Charlotte St. is closed due to the weather conditions. Social Services is operating by-phone services at 705-748-8830. The Social Services office will re-open for in-person services at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday. 

City-operated child care centres at Pearson Day Care and Peterborough Day Care are closed on Monday due to the weather conditions. Families have been contacted regarding the closures. 

The City-operated before and after-school child care programs at Edmison Heights Public School and Westmount Public School are closed as the school board has closed all schools due to the weather. 

Peterborough Public Library at 345 Aylmer St. is closed on Monday, due to the weather conditions. The library will re-open for in-person service on Tuesday. Online services are available at www.ptbolibrary.ca. The building and the washrooms will remain open as a warming space.

Trent University (Peterborough and Durham Campus) is closed however remote classes are still scheduled to run. Essential services remain open for students living on campus. Those on campus are encouraged to exercise caution.

Lansdowne Place Mall has closed all its stores for the day.
