Why A Major Travel Conference Coming To Peterborough Will Have Huge Impact

Big news for the area, as the 2015 TMAC Conference & AGM is here June 10th to 14th and will showcase Peterborough and the Kawarthas to the world.

The Peterborough & the Kawarthas Tourism (PKT) is hosting the 2015 Travel Media Association of Canada (TMAC) Conference & AGM—marking the first time the well known association has chosen to host its conference in a rural destination.

The annual conference is a place for members (writers, photographers, filmmakers, bloggers, social media mavens) to gather for story ideas on the chosen region.

The TMAC chose Peterborough because they were wowed by the wealth of activities available and the tremendous hospitality they experienced from everyone they met during their site inspection. They are excited to introduce their members to this beautiful area.

TMAC coming to Peterborough will result in significant media coverage for the area, with the goal of encouraging even more travellers to visit Peterborough and the Kawarthas—pumping more dollars into the local economy.

Peterborough & the Kawarthas Tourism (PKT) has a countless number of partners they're working with for this conference, such as The City of Peterborough, The County of Peterborough, Parks Canada, Ontario Parks, Kawarthas Northumberland, and the Province of Ontario through the Rural Economic Development (RED) Program.

At present (registration is still open), there are about 175 delegates attending—approximately 50% of which are media members. This is one of the highest media registration numbers TMAC has had in recent years!
