You can deny it all you want thanks in part to the warmer weather we’ve had this fall, but the Christmas season is just around the corner! We’re talking less than 6 weeks away, and with that, Downtown Peterborough is bringing back their always awesome passports to reward you with for shopping local.
If you’re new to the city or have never heard of the downtown passports, we’ll get you up to speed! Starting November 16th in our downtown core, local shops will have passports on hand for those who make initial purchases of $10 and more. For each $10 you spend, you are given individual stamps until you hit the $200 mark and your passport is full.
Keep your passports with you and always present them at shops when you’re making your purchase so the employees can load you up! When you’ve filled up your passport with over $200 worth of purchases, you are then entered into draws for prizes.
There will be 3 early bird draws of $500 each in downtown gift certificates that will take place on December 9th, 16th and 23rd. The great thing about these passports is that you’re not limited in the amount of entries you have! You can enter as many ballots as you want. Did we mention that when you buy gift certificates for shops and restaurants, it counts towards passports, too? Well, we just did!
Once you’ve filled up a passport, simply grab another one and keep going. Passports will be stamped by shops all the way up until January 5th, with the final grand prize draw for $1,000 in downtown gift certificates taking place on January 6th. This brings the total prizes up to $2,500!
Think of it this way: if you buy $600 worth of clothes over the holiday season for your loved ones, that’s 3 entry ballots right there and you’re supporting local businesses. Have your eye on some furniture? Buy it between now and January 5th and load up on ballots!
