Damn. The beloved East City Bakery is closing its awesome storefront bakery on July 26th [update: the wholesale portion of their business that delivers buns and bread to many local businesses will remain open]. There is an outpouring of disappointment on Twitter [and update: on our Facebook post] at the news of the retail store closing. Loyal East City Bakery customer and CHEX TV sports anchor Tyler Calver said it best...

I just found out the most terrible news the @EastCityBakery is closing it's Store front bakery on July 26. More great people will lose jobs
