PTBOCanada Featured Post: Pulse Physiotherapy In Peterborough's North End
/Connor Massimo and Adam Summers know an opportunity when they see one. Connor, a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy graduate from McMaster, and Adam, a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy graduate from Western, decided to take their 10 years of combined experience and branch out on their own.
The co-owners of the newly opened Pulse Physiotherapy (located at 866 Chemong Rd, Unit 2 (Asta/Spirit Plaza) recognized a need for physiotherapy services in the ever expanding north end of Peterborough and took advantage to fill the void.
With both men already living in Northcrest Ward 5, they are excited to take on the challenge of running what they hope will become Peterborough's premiere destination for Physiotherapy services, where they are already laying down their roots in the community.
The duo, along with office manager Nicole Campbell-Leveck and Executive Secretary Meghan Grills, are incredibly excited about their new state of the art 1,750 square foot facility. Pulse Physiotheraphy boasts 5 private treatment rooms which surround an open concept gym with a welcoming reception area that greets you upon entry. There is ample free parking at the front of the clinic and the building is fully accessible.
The focus of Pulse's treatment involves hands-on manual therapy and exercise prescription that is specific to each patient. They treat injuries and conditions related to the spine and all other joints and muscles of the body.
Pulse services include:
- Physiotherapy
- Acupuncture
- Sports Therapy (Return-To-Sport)
- Concussion Management
- Headaches
- Dizziness and Vertigo
- Motor Vehicle Accidents Rehabilitation
- Temporomandibular Disorder (Jaw Pain)
In early 2015, Pulse Physiotheraphy are also hoping to add a Registered Massage Therapist to their team as they recognize that physiotherapy and massage therapy treatments can complement each other well.
Connor and Adam entered the field of physiotherapy because they enjoy the challenge of investigating each individual patient's case and working together with them to find the best solution to help attain their goals.
People often seek out physiotherapy because they are in pain. As drug-free practitioners, Pulse Physiotherapy's goal is to determine the underlying source of their patient's pain and treat the root cause. This often provides patients with long-term relief and can be more effective than covering up the symptoms. They enjoy providing patients with education regarding their ailments and having patients as active participants in their treatment. This allows them to successfully return to the activities they enjoy.
The thing that sets Pulse Physiotherapy apart is their absolute focus on providing individuals with the best experience possible before anything and everything else. Each patient receives one-on-one personal physiotherapy, as Pulse doesn't employ kinesiologists or physiotherapy assistants to provide care. Patients have their own room for treatment each time they come to the facility, which allows for privacy and confidentiality. Your initial consult with the physiotherapist will be a full hour and includes: a detailed assessment of your injury, education regarding your condition, initial treatment and a detailed plan for your future care.
Not everyone enjoys the thought of having to visit a physiotherapist because they often associate needing to go to physiotherapy with being in pain. Connor and Adam hope to help buck that trend and not only offer relief for your pain, but provide you with lasting results!
