Weekend Wrap-up: Peterborough Roller Derby Chooses Team Name, New Yoga Studio... And Supermoon!

On Friday night, there was another practice for the Peterborough Roller Derby. Lucid Lou, the league organizer, is ready to split the team into two smaller teams to get them into game-ready shape. The players are still practicing to get ready for their qualifying exam to demonstrate that they are able to skate proficiently. The team colours are Lilac and Black, and a name for the team has been chosen: "The Electric City Rollers". Some bad news, however, is that the City of Peterborough is not interested in hosting any of their games in our local arenas, so Lucid Lou is following up secondary options such as renting buses and playing out of Lindsay.
Moksha Yoga is a new Hot Yoga studio that celebrated their grand opening on Saturday. Kierstin Henrickson is the owner and Studio Director, and was very pleased with the turnout. She describes the benefits of practicing Yoga in a heated room as being beneficial because the heat allows for deeper and safer stretching. Moksha Yoga is located at Unit #15, 550 Lansdowne Street West.

Everyone was looking up up in the sky Saturday night to see
"Supermoon". Our local weatherman Jay Scotland explains just what a Supermoon is.
