Tiny Greens, the winner of Win This Space 2017 competition, is now open at 431 George Street North. Tiny Greens owner Tina Bromley received a downtown storefront free for 12 months from Win This Space, plus additional prizes that will help her business succeed.
“While preparing to open the business, I have received so much help and support from the community, Downtown Business Improvement Area, City of Peterborough, sponsors and other downtown businesses, which makes me feel really appreciative,” says Tina Bromley.
Located in downtown Peterborough, Tiny Greens offers healthy and freshly harvested microgreen products such as microgreens, vegetables, herbs as well as juice and salad. Tina’s plan is to create a healthy hub for the community while enjoying a unique atmosphere.
“Tiny Greens has been extremely well-received in previous downtown events such as Taste of Downtown and Peterborough Pulse," says Terry Guiel, Excecutive Director of Downtown Business Improvement Area. "We are very excited to see her succeed and take her business to the next level with a storefront."
The Win This Space competition is a new downtown Peterborough initiative in partnership with the DBIA, Peterborough Economic Development, StartUP Peterborough and Community Futures Peterborough.
Win This Space concepts have been extremely successful in other Canadian cities with boosting economic development, stimulating new downtown storefront businesses and creating jobs.

“I am really excited to take my business to the next level and show Peterborough what I can create in downtown,” says Bromley. “I am looking forward to seeing customers enjoy healthy, local and sustainable products all year round.”
After winning the Win This Space competition in February, Tiny Greens is receiving a lease to a downtown storefront free for 12-months, plus additional prizes from locals businesses that will assist Tiny Greens.

The Win This Space program is possible thanks to many sponsors, including 12 business and community organizations that are each sponsoring a month of the lease. April is provided by Peterborough Distribution Inc. and Save On Energy, who will work with Tina to renovate the space with the latest energy-saving initiatives.

Entrepreneur Tina Bromley of Tiny Greens has won a free 12-month lease of a downtown storefront as well as thousands of dollars in additional prizes after winning the Win This Space competition announced at The Venue Thursday night (February 16th) before a huge crowd.
Tiny Greens plans to create a microgreenery and healthy hub in beautiful downtown Peterborough. Tiny Greens will be a space for healthy or health curious minded people to shop, learn and experience a drink or food made from a downtown urban farm-to-table environment.
It will be a space to sell local ready-grown year-round microgreens, vegetables and herbs, as well as other foods from local farmers in the grocery aisle. Tiny Greens will also include education and workshops as well as sales of supplies and products for growing indoor and vertical gardens.
Based out of Tina’s home, Tiny Greens has been in business for two years and has already earned a reputation for having high-quality products for a growing market.

HOW WIN THIS SPACE COMPETITION WORKED
After launching the Win This Space competition on October 17th, Win This Space received 41 applications. Eleven judges narrowed it down to 10 finalists on January 19th. The 10 finalists were put through three mandatory workshops on business plans, marketing and financial forecasting. After delivering their business plans and live presentations on February 13th, five finalists—all women—were selected. Out of that Final 5, Tina was chosen as the winner.
The Win This Space competition is a new downtown Peterborough initiative in partnership with the DBIA, Peterborough Economic Development, StartUP Peterborough and Community Futures Peterborough.
