The campaign, called Safe Under 7, will run for June, July and August, and take a zero tolerance approach to motorists driving in excess of 7 km/h over the posted speed limit in residential neighbourhoods.
“This number is not arbitrary—driving just 7 km/h above the posted speed limit in residential neighbourhoods can have catastrophic results,” says Sgt. Sejrup.
“This campaign has the capacity to make a significant difference in reducing personal injuries, property damage and fatal collisions.”
