“I think we’re going to have a lot of clientele, meet a lot of new people,” said Shannon Green-Pettipas, store manager. “We’re kind of the only second hand store like this in the East City area.”

The sales floor is just over 3000 sq. feet, and is replacing the Vinnies location previously on George Street.

The new shop has ample parking and the new fresh interior holds a different treasure for everyone.

“It’s so bright, it’s big, it’s open,” said Angela Oran, general manager. “East City is such a beautiful little area.”

“It’s a bit of everything in here,” said Green-Pettipas. “ You never know what you’ll find in here. We are constantly restocking. You could come in here in the morning, then in the afternoon and again in the evening and see something different every single time.”

Though not limited, Vinnies carries clothing for all ages, books, toys, furniture, dishes and anything else may be donated.

Profits from Vinnies Thrift Store will go directly to the food pantry provided there.

The store prides itself in providing employment for close to 40 people local to Peterborough. Opening the new East City location allowed the organization to hire a few more employees.

The East City shop is located at 52 Hunter St. East and is open Mon. - Fri. 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
