Time 2 Hoop Basketball Academy is hosting both basketball and soccer camps this summer to build skills, foster teamwork and keep kids active during their break.
“Camp is an opportunity to get out of the house, meet new people, learn a new skill,” said Time 2 Hoop founder Joshua Williams. “It’s an opportunity to open your mind a little bit and learn, and play a sport.”
Williams, a certified basketball coach, attended Fleming College and coached men’s varsity and women’s extramural basketball teams. He started Time 2 Hoop with the hope of growing basketball in Peterborough.
In 2021 Williams launched the Time 2 Hoop basketball camp. After a successful summer they are back for round two with the addition of a Nike Soccer Camp too.
“We launched 'Time 2 Hoop Sports’ which will activate other sports outside of basketball, we decided to start with soccer.”
Both camps will take place at Playground East, the former location of The Spiplex.
Both soccer and basketball camps are open to players of all skill levels aged 5 to 17.
“There’s no difference if you have experience or have never played before, everyone is welcome.”
Basketball Camp will run every week from July 4 - August 26 with no session from August 2 - 5. Check in is at 8:30 a.m. with checkout at 3 p.m. It costs $225 + HST for a half day and $325 + HST for a full day. Lunch is not provided.
Soccer Camp will run July 8- 12, July 11-15, August 8-12 and August 15-19 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. It costs $295 + HST.
