Peterborough Transit is adjusting some services starting Friday, using On Demand Transit Service and helping to ensure the provision of consistent, reliable service.

Changes include increasing the use of On Demand Transit Service (PTBOnDemand) in the evenings to replace some regularly scheduled services, reducing some community bus services and some trip time adjustments to streamline transfers between routes.

PTBOnDemand will replace some regular service routes on weekday evenings in addition to Saturday evening for a more efficient delivery of transit. On Demand Transit makes trips more convenient by offering a direct ride for customers to locations closer to where they want to go without the need to transfer between buses.

On Demand Transit does not require users to have a cell phone or data. Customers can call 705-745-5801 or use the PTBOnDemand app to schedule their trip by identifying their pick-up and drop-off transit stops. The route planning software determines the route based on the destinations in coordination with other customer requests with similar destinations.

Updated route schedules and service details are posted at peterborough.ca/TransitRoutes.
