Peterborough Petes forward Tucker Robertson is staying in the Pacific Northwest as he signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Seattle Kraken on Thursday.
The Toronto-born forward was a fourth-round selection, 123rd overall, by the Kraken in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. Robertson was an assistant captain for the Petes this season, scoring 36 goals and 54 assists in 68 games. He became the first Pete since 2002-03 to record 90 points in a season. He added another 22 points in 23 postseason games to lead the Petes to their 2023 OHL Championship. Robertson scored a goal and two assists during the team’s 2023 Memorial Cup run.
“On behalf of the Petes, I’d like to congratulate Tucker on signing his first NHL contract,” said Michael Oke, Petes general manager. “Over the past couple of years, Tucker has proven himself to be one of the top players in the Ontario Hockey League and we’re happy to see him be rewarded for his hard work.”
Robertson was selected by the Petes in the fourth round of the 2019 OHL Priority Selection. He sits 31st on the team’s all-time scoring list with 189 points in 191 games.
