Peterborough Man Wanted on Warrants Faces Several Charges From Saturday Incident

A 28-year-old Peterborough man wanted on warrants is facing several new charges after an incident early Saturday morning.

At aroughly 12:25 a.m., general patrol officers in the George Street and King Street area spotted the man wanted on warrants running away from the area. Officers we able to catch up to him at the end of King Street and Water Street.

They advised the man he was under arrest on outstanding warrants for uttering threats, dangerous operation, stunt driving, failing to comply with release order.  The suspect attempted to resist arrest, screaming and striking out at officers as he was taken into custody. 

The man was arrested on his warrants and further charged with:

  • Assault with intent to resist arrest

  • Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court 

The suspect is bound by a release order with the following conditions to reside with their surety every night and to remain in their residence between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

The accused was held in custody and appeared in court on Saturday.
