Peterborough Man Faces Assault Charge After Allegedly Punching and Slapping a Woman
/A 27-year-old Peterborough man is facing an assault charge after an intimate partner violence incident that occurred Wednesday evening.

At roughly 6 p.m. officers arrived at a residence about a disturbance. A a verbal disagreement has escalated into the man allegedly punching and slapping the woman. The suspect fled before authorities arrived. Police searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
Officers were called back to the residence around 8:30 p.m., conducted a search of the residence for victim safety and located the suspect hiding in a closet on Thursday.
