Peterborough Man Charged With Assault For Spitting On a Peace Officer

A 21-year-old Peterborough man is facing an assault charge for spitting on a Peace officer from a Wednesday evening incident.

At roughly 7 p.m., officers were called to a residence in the Armour Road and Parkhill Road East area about a domestic incident. When they arrived, officers got a second call about the same man and located him outside of the residence. They attempted to calm him down but he kept showing aggressive behaviour according to a press release.

When officers tried to take him into custody, the accused spat at an officer during the arrest.

The 21-year-old Peterborough man was arrested and charged with:

  • Assault a peace officer

The accused was released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 12.
