Peterborough Lakers Take 2-1 Series Lead With Back-To-Back Playoff Road Wins

Back-to-back road wins gives Peterborough Century 21 Lakers a 2-1 Major Series Lacrosse (MSL) series lead as they beat the Six Nations Chiefs, 11-7 Iroquois Lacrosse Arena on Sunday.

Both teams were evenly contested after the first period ended 4-4. The Lakers managed to squeeze a one-goal lead after the second. The team clamped down on both ends scoring four goals in the third while holding Six Nations to one goal to earn the road win.

Shawn Evans and Mark Matthews each had a pair of goals and assists to lead the Lakers. Lakers goaltender Doug Buchan made 34 saves for the win. Cody Jamieson led Six Nations with a pair of goals and one assist while Doug Jamieson made 33 saves. 

Game four is on Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.
