Peterborough Lakers Take 1-0 Series Lead in MSL Final Opener

The Peterborough Century 21 Lakers take game one, beating the Six Nations Chiefs in the Major Series Lacrosse (MSL) final, 10-6 at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena on Tuesday.

Six Nations jumped to a 3-0 lead after the first period. The Lakers countered with their own run in the second, scoring five goals to Six Nations’ one. Peterborough kept their foot on the gas scoring another five while the home team only mustered two for a 10-6 final.

Cory Vitarelli, Joe Resetarits and Mitch Ogilvie each scored a pair of goals for the Lakers, while goaltender Doug Buchan made 46 saves for the win.

Game two is Thursday at 8 p.m. at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.
