The win makes it 2-1 in favour of the Thunder in the best-of-seven series as Langley won the first two games.

The Cattoni brothers, Holden and Taite, led the Lakers with 12 points between them.

“We came out with a little bit more energy and played a little better and a little smarter,” said Holden Cattoni. “This was a must-win game for us.”

Both teams alternated between goals but Langley led 3-2 after the first period.

The Lakers clamped down defensively while starting their own fireworks show offensively for the rest of the game. They outscored the Thunder 5-1 in the second and again in the third, 4-2.

Curtis Dickson led Langley with four points (1 goal and 3 assists). Captain Connor Robinson had a pair of goals while Frankie Scigliano made 37 saves on 49 shots.
