The Peterborough Century 21 Lakers added another offensive weapon in Eli McLaughlin ahead of Saturday’s Major Series Lacrosse trade deadline, announced on Wednesday,
The Lakers acquired McLaughlin from the Western Lacrosse Association’s Burnaby Lakers for an undisclosed cash consideration.
“He is a high-end offensive dynamic talent that we are truly excited to get in the Lakers’ lineup,” said Paul Day, Lakers general manager.
McLaughlin is available after July 9 since he is playing for Team Haudenosaunee at the World Men’s Lacrosse Championships with Thomas Hoggarth and Blake McDonald.
McLaughlin is no stranger to some of the Lakers as he has played with team captain Robert Hope during the NLL season for the Colorado Mammoth, helping them win the league championship in 2022. He scored 44 goals and 38 assists for 82 points in 17 games this past season.
The Lakers are hosting Brampton Excelsiors at the Peterborough Memorial Centre on Thursday at 8 p.m.
