One Man and Two Teens Facing Assault Charges After Another Person Was Shot In the Leg
/Three people including two teenagers are facing several charges after an incident on Tuesday evening.
At roughly 7 p.m., officers conducted a well-being check at a residence on Fairbairn Street in Peterborough.
Upon knocking on the door, a 24-year-old man exited the residence with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was treated at the scene by EMS and taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment.
Police learned there were more people in the residence. Officers with the Emergency Response Team, K9 and RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft System) Units set up and the residence was cleared by officers.
As a result of the incident,
A 22-year-old St.Catharines man was arrested and charged with:
Aggravated Assault
Assault with a Weapon
Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
A 16-year-old Whitby male was arrested and charged with:
Aggravated Assault
Assault with a Weapon
Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
A 15-year-old Ajax male was arrested and charged with:
Aggravated Assault
Assault with a Weapon
All three accused are being held in custody and will appear in court on Wednesday.
Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, two of the names cannot be released.
During the arrests, officers seized:
28.5 grams of fentanyl
