The Ontario Hockey League (OHL) has reaffirmed its decision to continue the season after a Board of Governors meeting held on Wednesday morning.

The decision was made despite the restrictions issued by the Ontario Government in response to the Omicron COVID-19 variant. The order took effect on Wednesday.

The rules include closing indoor sport and recreational fitness facilities including gyms except for athletes training for the Olympics, Paralympics and select professional and elite amateur sport leagues.

The league is speaking with government officials to determine how the season should progress.

OHL will provide the public with updates as they develop.
