Local Journalist and Broadcaster Makes National Television Debut On Sportsnet

From broadcasting in Peterborough to the national stage, former Peterborough journalist Katrina Squazzin made her anchoring debut with Sportsnet on Sunday night.

She anchored with Faizal Khamisa, covering the top sports stories of the day, including Canada's participation in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Squazzin formerly worked with Global News Peterborough as a videographer/anchor and colour commentator for the Peterborough Petes on FREQ 90.5. as the first woman to ever do it on Feb. 10, 2022.

In March 2022, Squazzin was selected as the colour commentator for the Professional Women’s Hockey Players Association regional game between Team Sonnet and Team Harvey which was held on March 26 at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.

She was part of the all-female broadcast team with then Global colleague and sideline reporter Meaghan Roy and play-by-play commentator Julia Tocheri of TSN.

The Chatham-Kent native joined Sportsnet in February of last year as an associate producer.
