Holden Cattoni made sure the Lakers advanced as he scored four goals in the first period. He got Peterborough first three scores and capped off the period with his fourth to give the Lakers a 7-3 lead.
The Lakers kept their foot on the gas in the second period, scoring another six goals and only letting up two. Owen Hiltz completed his hat trick while Thomas Hoggarth got his second of the game this period.
The offense calmed down on both sides, with only three goals split between the teams but Peterborough outscored Owen Sound 2-1 in the final frame. The Lakers easily dispatched the North Stars 15-6 and swept the series.
The Lakers will face Brooklin L.C. in the semi-finals beginning Tuesday at Iroquois Park Sports Centre in Whitby. Game two is on Thursday at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.
The Cobourg Kodiaks will face the defending champion Six Nations Chiefs in the other semi-final.
