Trent U's New Sign Is Lit

Trent University has installed a stunning new sign located at the main entrance on the West Bank of their Symons Campus.

The gateway features an impressive stone cairn, designed to symbolize the beginning of a journey. The sign also draws inspiration (and materials) from the community that surrounds it, and is made of limestone and basalt stone quarried in the area.

Drawing inspiration from Trent’s own picturesque landscape, the refreshed entrance sign is complementary to the campus’ iconic Ron Thom architecture and the beautiful natural surroundings.

It looks awesome during the day but at night—wow—as the Trent letters and logo are illuminated in green in the dark, making for great photo-ops.

All materials and labour for the new sign were locally sourced: the concept was designed by Basterfield and Associates, all stone was locally mined and processed by Drain Bros, the sign itself was created by Media Works in Millbrook, and all electrical work was done by Dan Healey Electric.
