James Barker Band Teams Up With Fleming’s School of Trades and Technology To Convert GO Transit Bus Into Tour Bus

Well this collaboration so rocks: The James Barker Band—a country band on the rise from Woodville near Peterborough—has teamed up with Fleming College’s School of Trades and Technology to retrofit an old GO Transit bus into their first official tour bus.

Fleming's Carpentry, Welding, Plumbing and Electrical students will be working on the bus to add eight bunks, a lounge area, closet, bathroom and kitchenette. It will have all the amenities of a tour bus.

With the help of Trades faculty, the students have seven weeks to complete this awesome project, as the band will be embarking on their upcoming tour across Canada. The vehicle will be polished with a bus wrap that includes the Fleming College logo.

The James Barker band mentioned the collaboration on their Facebook page...

This is a great applied project for the students to do, and the process will be documented on Fleming's Facebook page. Fleming College tells PTBOCanada there will be a video documenting the process as well once the tour bus is complete.

You can catch The James Barker Band as part of the Dean Brody tour on May 6th at the Memorial Centre.
