Peterborough Woman's Epic Episode With The Chipmunk In The Dryer
/Monday was not a normal day for Peterborough's Sarah Deeth. See, she had a chipmunk in her dryer in her basement.
So naturally, she put out the call on social media for help...
Some people made suggestions, some just enjoyed watching the drama unfold, while others were chippuzzled.
Meanwhile, Sarah and the chipmunk were just chirping each other...
Later in the day, friends of Sarah came over to help...
And 2.5 hours after her chipmunk entourage came over to help rescue this little guy, she posted this update...
As one Facebook friend commented, "Alvin made it out safe and sound."
Well, except for one thing: While Alvin, as we'll call him by now, was finally free of the dryer, he still had Sarah's cats to contend with—unless he somehow could break out of her house. That he did, as Deeth updated us on her Facebook page Tuesday morning, in an almost not Hollywood ending.
Deeth tells PTBOCanada this of her Chipmunk In The Dryer episode:
"It's amazing what four animal-loving people will do to spare the life of a chipmunk," says Deeth. "We worked so hard, in a hot, unfinished basement to get this little dude out. Having friends there made a stressful situation much more entertaining. I was really stressed out and worried about everything until everyone showed up and helped me see the humour in it all."
As for the dryer which they took apart?
"I'm not too sure how my dryer will fair, only time will tell," Deeth says. "But at least I can operate it with a good conscience."
