“We launch undiscovered products and help them succeed,” says The Grommet website. “We call them Grommets. Grommets aren’t just things. Grommets are products with a purpose invented by people with stories.” Their mission? “#Buydifferently.”

The Grommet looks for unique products created by "makers" with a story to tell. They only select roughly 3% of submitted products, so they’re serious about uniqueness! Their launch platform helps to bring a wider audience to a new company, giving them much needed press and attention. We already know about Walton Wood Farm (and smell better because of them), but now it’s time for the rest of the world to know them too!

Walton Wood Farm products don’t just have a scent; they have a soul. The couple behind the brand—Peter and Leslie Scott—began their company just 18 months ago with the purpose of raising money to save their historic barns.

“We wanted to make high quality products using sustainable ingredients that are fun to give and great to use,” Leslie tells PTBOCanada. “Once we save our barns, we’ll help to save others.” Who doesn’t love a good barn?!

Scott’s daughters challenged her to make cool gifts for their boyfriends. “I looked at the fragrance isle at the local drug store and wondered, Why are colognes for men so feminine, breakable, and far too strong? And what’s with the themes—who do you know that actually plays polo?”

Walton Wood Farm’s Men Don’t Stink solid colognes boast a 100% natural base. Packaged in tins, they won’t leak or break. As they are a solid, they’re carry-on luggage approved—and being alcohol free, legal to mail. Each fragrance is built around an archetype: The Gentleman, The Adventurer, The Beast and other themes reflective of today’s man.

“Our product is made for the way men really live—rugged and mobile,” Scott tells PTBOCanada. “They’re much better for the skin, and won’t ‘stink’ people out of public spaces. That’s one of the reasons we called our line, Men Don’t Stink.”

What’s next for the little farm that could located in our backyard? “We hope to go International with our company and put Peterborough, Ontario on the bath and beauty manufacturing map. It’s a fairly simple goal,” says Scott. “Make cool gifts, create jobs, save barns, and protect our environment… one man and one can at a time.”
