Crestwood Joins YWCA As First Local High School To Walk A Mile in Her Shoes

Crestwood has joined YWCA as the first local high school to Walk A Mile in Her Shoes...

The walk at the school takes place Friday, May 22nd from 11 a.m. to noon, with more than 100 students participating.

Male students will be walking in heels with female students accompanying them, in the foyer, at Crestwood Secondary School.

“This is education. It is important for young people to learn that domestic violence is an issue that surrounds us all,” says Ian Beaman, Acting Vice-Principal, Crestwood Secondary School.

“We need to talk about this now, to ensure this kind of violence doesn’t become a part of their lives. We educate about English and math and those are of value. This is an equally important opportunity to help educate them about healthy relationships, character, and life."
