PSA: Do Not Ever Leave Your Kids Unattended In A Heated Car
/So, most people know enough not to leave their pets in heated cars (exhibit A of how quickly cars heat up is here, and exhibit B is here). But what about leaving kids unattended? Well our editor Neil Morton tweeted yesterday about his wife's encounter with a father at the LCBO on Lansdowne Street on Wednesday. The dad left his toddlers in his car on a sweltering July day while he went in to get booze (there have been several recent incidents of kids dying from being left in hot cars). Neil's wife saw the kids in the back of the car strapped into their car seats and knocked on the window and asked if they were OK but they were too young to communicate, and one she noticed had begun to sweat profusely. Minutes later, she tracked the dad down and he didn't see a problem with it, and their conversation—with bystanders looking on—got, well, heated, in the parking lot. WTF. See tweets below and some of responses.
So yeah, if you need booze that bad or whatever, bring your kids with you. Don't leave your kids alone in a car. Period.
