A Routine Traffic Stop In Peterborough Leads To 10 Charges

Traffic stop leads to arrest:

On the 22nd of August 2011 Peterborough Lakefield Police conducted a routine traffic stop in the area of Reid St. and Sherbrooke St.  The driver of the vehicle attempted to elude detection by giving a false name to the officers.  Investigation quickly revealed the true identity of the driver.  As a result 25 year old Shawn Cromwell of Peterborough has been charged with the following offences:  Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000.00, Possession of Marihuana Under 30 grams, Obstruct Police, Breach of Probation, Drive While Under Suspension, Drive Without a Licence, Use Plates Not Authorized For Vehicle, No Currently Validated Permit, Use Validation Not Furnished For Vehicle and Possess Illegal Licence.  Cromwell was held in custody for a bail hearing on the 23rd of August 2011 to begin the process to determine his guilt or innocence.
