3 Separate Stabbing Incidents On Police Report Today Including A Cab Driver Stabbed Early This Morning

From a Peterborough Lakefield Community Police Service Media Release today...

Warrant Arrest:

On the 28th of August 2011, officers were called to a disturbance at a Herbert Street residence where it is alleged that the victim, a 33 year old male, was stabbed in the arm by a male while at a backyard get together. As a result of the investigation, a warrant was issued to arrest Murdock Roderick McNeil age 35 of Cornwall Street in Omemee for assault with a weapon and aggravated assault. On the 31st of October McNeil turned himself in at the Peterborough Lakefield Police Station on Water Street. He was arrested, held in custody and will appear in court later this morning.

 

Cab Driver Stabbed:

On the 1st of November at approximately 12:47 am officers were called to the area of King and Margaret Street to assist a cab driver that had been stabbed. The driver, a 64-year-old male, was taken to hospital where he is being treated for several stab wounds and remains in stable condition. The investigation is continuing. Stabbing On McKellar Street:

Police continue to investigate the stabbing on McKellar Street and there is no further information to release at this time. As previously mentioned, this stabbing has been determined to be an isolated incident and is not related to Halloween activities or the stabbing of the cab driver.
