Christmas is fast approaching—the most wonderful time of the year! The beauty of this time of year is that you’re bound to find countless sales on items you’ll consider purchasing for your friends and family.

We’ll make things easy on you and direct you to one of the best, if not the best day on the calendar to shop till you drop, and that day is Black Friday. The top spot to go you might wonder? Why Downtown Peterborough, of course!

On Friday, November 27th, Black Friday is here yet again and our awesome downtown core has more than 100 participating locally owned businesses. They are ready to rock and roll with off the hook deals you might not believe unless you see them in person.

Chances are some people might grumble about even the very thought of this day. They might think that it’s just another tactic shops use to fool customers into getting out and spending their hard earned money. Well, in fact it’s really the exact opposite.

Think of this day as an opportunity—a great opportunity to save bundles of your money, support local owners, and get a bunch of your shopping done early, giving you a chance to kick back and really enjoy the season.

Downtown businesses have fully embraced the concept of putting on once a year deals on this exact day and they want you to take advantage. It’s a win-win!

For this day, and this day only, most, if not all shops downtown are opening early—as in 8 a.m. type early! Downtown has restaurants, spas, salons, cafes, pubs, tattoo parlours, martial arts gyms, specialty shops, and even a butcher shop participating—along with their compliment of fashion, furniture, and various retail shops taking part. There aren’t many other places you’ll be able to find such a large selection of great business all within walking distance.

The deals will be awesome, you’ll be supporting local owners—many of whom you might even know—and did we mention that downtown holiday passports are back!? (More on that later in a future post, we promise.) For now, what you need to remember is this date -> Friday, November 27th. Mark it on your calendars. Black Friday will be running from 8 a.m. on, so set aside part of your day, book the babysitter now, and get ready to buckle up!
