Mehrangiz Monsef, “Bridge Building between Indigenous and Immigrant Communities”

Mehrangiz Monsef is of Afghani and Irani decent. She moved to Canada with her mom and two sisters and knows first-hand what the integration process into a new world and culture looks and feels like. She has lived on the ‘Canadian’ side of Turtle Island (North America) for over 23 years. Mehrangiz is a Trent University Alumna who majored in Indigenous Studies and Psychology and has engaged in community work via mental health advocacy, Immigrant and Immigrant Youth Justice and Advocacy, Indigenous solidarity, social and environmental justice, Truth and [Re]Conciliation and various cross-cultural and intergenerational projects/initiatives. This event takes place on the Zoom video-conferencing platform. Part of the "Enwayaang: The Way We Speak Together" speaker series.
