The 9th Annual Purple Onion Festival is a beautiful Autumnal Equinox Festival celebrating our local bounty and harvest; bright and colourful with booth after booth over spilling with the best of the season's crop. This year there is an outstanding lineup of local musicians all day long while you browse, shop and explore through the local vendors.

The Taste of the Kawarthas tent features some of Peterborough's top chefs and caterers! They'll be serving exciting local food samples prepared just for the day-come early they have been known to sell out.
There's even a local craft beer tent with a few different beers to try out! What's a better way to enjoy the last vibes of summer while you sit back and relax enjoying a cold brew and great live tunes.
The Purple Onion Festival is host to the fourth Electric City Vehicle meet! Come check out new and used electric vehicles, ask questions and take test drives.
This is a PURPLE event! Wear anything and everything purple you can find! Purple shows you are proud of Peterborough local farmers local businesses and local culture. Will be taking pictures of the purplest outfits.
At 3 p.m. every year we dance for the climate! Let's make some joyful noise and bring the whole family for a good free time in the center of the park. Show your love and joy for our beautiful planet and community.
The Purple Onion Festival is a Transition Town Peterborough initiative and is created each year by a delegated team of 40 volunteers.
