We are thrilled to welcome Joel MacCharles of Warkworth Ontario, co-author of Batch and the highly popular blog, Well Preserved.
Hit the Peterborough Regional Farmers Market on Saturday morning (7:30-1pm) FIRST and buy way too much of anything fresh and delicious, then come to this demo and Joel will send you off with so many ideas of what to do with your fresh market produce that you can run home and start making right away. You’ll also receive a copy of his cookbook Batch – Over 200 Recipes Tips and Techniques for a Well Preserved Kitchen and a jar of something homemade to inspire you!
Joel MacCharles (with his partner Dana Harrison) has been writing about preserving on WellPreserved.ca for more than 10 years. Batch has been a bestseller since its publication in spring of 2016 (Appetite by Penguin Random House). It is unique in the preserving cookbook world as it focuses on seven different methods of preserving (waterbath canning, infusing, pressure canning, fermenting, salting and smoking, cellaring and dehydrating) to add new ingredients and variety to your pantry and your kitchen.
This session will make preserving simple and give you the knowledge and ability to preserve almost anything with less time and effort than you think. Joel will emphasize the fun side of preserving and give you practical ideas for starting, enhancing or using your existing knowledge about preserving! You’ll leave motivated and ready to start as soon as you get home!
