Peterborough Woman $100,000 Richer After ENCORE Win
/Carla Guest of Peterborough matched the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the July 12 LOTTO MAX draw and won $100,000.
Guest say she is an occasional lottery player and she typically plays LOTTO MAX but doesn't always add ENCORE.
"This is my first big win," she said.
"It was quite the surprise," she said. "I called my husband to tell him, and he was just as shocked as me."
She plans to pay some bills and invest in her future with her win.
"I'd also like to travel and visit family. It's still entirely unbelievable. This will definitely enhance my life," said Guest.
The winning ticket was purchased at Real Canadian Superstore on Borden Avenue in Peterborough.
Peterborough Woman Hits the Jackpot And Wins $1 Million
/Jill Artibello of Peterborough is now $1 million richer after winning the LOTTO MAX draw on June 7.
Artibello, who is retired, says she has been playing the lottery since LOTTO MAX launched.
The avid sewer and crafter said she checked her tickets at home when she discovered she won big.
"I kept looking and double checking the numbers online. I just couldn't believe it," she said. "I told my sister and she said, 'Stop –you're lying!'"
Artibello plans to share her win with family.
"I will share with my sister, nieces and nephews and my good friend. I will also enjoy a more comfortable retirement and do some work around the house."
The winning ticket was purchased at Shoppers Drug Mart on Charlotte Street in Peterborough.
"I'm so happy. I never dreamed I would win.”
Winner Of PRHC 50/50 Lottery Takes Home $28,272
/Heather Kane of Newcastle has won $28,272 in the Peterborough Regional Health Centre Foundation 50/50 Lottery.
Kane won with Ticket Number D-1380785..
The two Early Bird winners, Jacquie Slater and Michel Hill walked away with a combined $4,500 in winnings
Tickets for the ‘Summer Special’ lottery are on sale now.
The Lottery runs until Aug. 15 with the winner drawn on Aug. 16.
Tickets are available online only at prhcfoundation5050.com.
Options include 10 tickets for $10, 40 tickets for $20, 160 tickets for $40 or 750 for $75. Ticket buyers must be 18 years of age or older and in the province of Ontario to play.

/Sharlene Hetherton of Peterborough is $500,000 richer after winning the top prize with an Instant Mystery Multiplier.
Sharlene, a housekeeper, says she was in disbelief when she first discovered her big win.
"I was in tears and in shock," she said. "This is a life changing experience. Dreams can come true.”
The mother of three and grandmother of eight plans to pay off some bills and invest her win.

The winning selection was 8974336 and the winning ticket was sold in Peterborough.
Players must match the last six of the seven ENCORE numbers in exact order to win the $100,000 prize. Players have one year from the draw date to claim their prize.
